             Women’s Arts College, Beed is affiliated with Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati  Sambhaji Nagar. Under College Department of National Service Scheme is functioning from the academic year 1993-1994.  The motto of the National Service Scheme is,  “Not Me But You ”.  The National Service Scheme was established with this aim of creating social awareness in the minds of college students and bringing about their overall personality development.In order to co-ordinate the values of self-reliance, character development and social commitment in the new education system.Since the birth of great freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi i.e. 24 September 1969, the National Service Scheme for college students has been implemented under the Ministry of Youth Welfare and Sports, Government of India.  Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has been running National Service Scheme since 1970-1971 and today it is working in four districts .

  •  Objectives of National Service  Scheme :- To do social service while getting college education, to do constructive work by mixing with the people of our nearby area and understanding them, to develop one’s personality through social service.  This scheme was started with this objective and its main objectives are as follows.
  1. To develop democratic tendencies by possessing leadership qualities.
  2. To understand the society in which we work.
  3. Spreading and developing national unity.
  4. To awaken in the mind the desire to serve the poor section of the society.
  5. To make oneself qualified to understand the concerned society.
  6. To know the needs of the society, to understand their problems and to eliminate them, which will make the society active.
  7. To develop a sense of social responsibility within us.
  8. To use our education to solve personal or social problems and find practical solutions to them. 
  9. To develop in ourselves the qualities that are needed to blend in the society.
  10. Bridging the gap between literate and illiterate.

Under the National Service Scheme Department of our college, various programs are conducted for volunteers throughout the year.

  1. Regular Programmes:- These include health screening camp, cleanliness drive, national integration and goodwill programme, voter awareness, AIDS awareness, tree plantation, gender equality and various programs for women, important day programs throughout the year, gutkha against tobacco and cancer awareness programmes.
  2. Special Residential Camp Program:-Various activities are conducted for volunteers from this camp, including environment related (plantation, water conservation, construction of dams), health related programs (AIDS awareness, health screening, blood donation camp), social awareness (anti-dowry program, superstition). Eradication, Child Marriage, Population) Literacy Campaign, Empowerment of Women Self Employment, Legal Advice, Emergency Services, National Integration and Goodwill Programmes. Thus various programs are conducted in the college under the National Service Scheme Department.
